Out-of-pocket expense

Under the Malasakit Centers Act, an out-of-pocket expense refers to medical and surgical services arising from hospitalization not currently paid for or sufficiently covered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) benefits, insurance coverage, discounts, or other sources of similar nature.
