Higher education institution

Under the Transnational Higher Education Act, higher education institutions (HEIs) refer to public and private post-secondary education institutions, which include universities and colleges, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions and specialized institutions that provide undergraduate and graduate degree programs in such fields as law, theology, medicine, business, music, and art, among others. Under the Athletic Programs Report Act, higher education institution (HEI) refers to an educational institution engaged in educating individuals in the college level which offers courses or programs leading to the grant of a degree. (Sec. 3(b), R.A. No. 11180)
