The V. Isles & Co. Law Firm uses Google Workspace, and thus its email (@vislesco.com) is using Google’s Gmail infrastructure.
In July, I switched to Mozilla Thunderbird for the management of my email accounts.
Last night I noticed that I could not anymore access my vincent.isles@vislesco.com emails from Thunderbird.
Here’s the solution that worked:
- From the Menu Bar, click on Tools > Account Settings then click on the subject account on the left pane.
- Click on Server Settings, and under Server Name, type “imap.gmail.com”.
- Under Authentication Method, choose “OAuth2”.
- You will be prompted to restart Thunderbird, so restart it.
- After the restart, you should be brought to Google’s authentication page.
- For good measure, on the left pane of the Account Settings tab, click on the subject account, and at the bottom click on “Edit SMTP server…” then make sure that the Server Name is smtp.gmail.com. Under Security and Authentication, choose OAuth2 for Authentication method.
