For those who are wondering why most lawyers stick to a standard minimum fee for each type of transaction or legal work, it is because the local chapters of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), the official organization of lawyers recognized by the Supreme Court, have agreed to standard minimum fees, and a member who stubbornly refuses to observe the standard would be reported to the IBP National Office for appropriate action.
