I object to this characterization of Ms. Beltran’s post as a criminal act.

It was Dir. Bernadas himself who characterized the area as presumed contaminated. That is in fact the reason the initial decision was not to continue with the mass testing, was it not?

I disagree with this kind of messaging to the public. While indeed, the rapid circulation of fake news could create confusion and is therefore criminalized, prosecuting a netizen for a post which is clearly not designed to cause confusion but to present one’s opinion on a matter of public concern, is a waste of the State’s resources and could send a chilling effect on everyone.

With all due respect, Mr. Mayor, your time would be better spent on addressing the real problems facing your city, not on things like this.
